They’re Calling It Diet Weed

Diet weed. Weedderall. Whatever you call it, THCV is the cannabinoid that kills the munchies and replaces your afternoon coffee.

If you’ve been on TikTok, Reddit or basically anywhere online in the last year, you’ve probably seen the words “diet weed” or "weedderall” floating around. Or someone posting about how they took cannabis before work and suddenly didn’t need a second breakfast or a mid-afternoon snack.

That cannabinoid is THCV.

And the reason it’s trending isn’t because someone made a good meme. It’s because people are trying it and going “wait, this actually works”.

So what is it? Why does it do the opposite of what you’d expect from cannabis? And why can’t the internet stop talking about it?

THC makes you hungry, relaxed and a little sleepy. Everyone who consumes cannabis is familiar with that feeling.

But THCV does the opposite. It’s a different cannabinoid from the same plant, but instead of activating the receptor that makes you hungry and sedated, THCV blocks it. Your hunger signals quiet down, your energy goes up and your focus sharpens.

So Does It Actually Work?

Short answer: yes. And not just because people on the internet said so.

In 2024, a double-blind clinical trial gave people THCV gummies, THC-only gummies and a placebo without telling them which was which. The people who got THCV reported significantly more energy, more motivation and a greater sense of well-being compared to the placebo group.

But here’s the part that made the study interesting:

  • 3x less fatigue reported compared to the THC-only group
  • 50% spike in hunger for the THC-only group, while the THCV group's appetite stayed stable

So the people taking regular THC got hungrier and more tired. The people taking THCV got more energized and their appetite didn’t budge.

A 2016 human trial found that THCV helped stabilize blood sugar at just 5mg twice daily for 13 weeks. That matters because unstable blood sugar is what causes energy crashes, random cravings and that 3pm wall where you can't focus on anything.

It's Not JUST About Suppressing Hunger Though…

The "diet weed" nickname is catchy but it undersells what THCV actually does. Yes, it suppresses appetite. But people taking THCV in the clinical trial also reported higher activity levels and more motivation. They weren't dragging through the day with low energy from eating less, they were getting things done while feeling more energized than before.

That's why THCV isn't just resonating with people who are trying to lose weight, it's also gaining popularity with those who want to feel sharper and more locked in during the day.

Your Morning Coffee Could Never

Look, caffeine works, that's not a secret. But it comes with trade-offs most people just accept as normal. The jitters, the crash, the tolerance that builds until you need two cups to feel anything and the cortisol spike that leaves you wired but not actually productive.

THCV works differently. It works with your endocannabinoid system instead of overriding your nervous system, delivering clean energy that feels clean.

Now, we're not telling you to throw your coffee machine out. Our goal is to help you understand that your body already has a system for managing energy, appetite and focus when used correctly. THCV just works with it instead of against it.

FK+ Energy+ and Focus+

FK+ uses THCV alongside other cannabinoids and adaptogens, formulated for specific outcomes.

  • Energy+: THCV combined with Cordyceps, Yerba Mate and Maca Root. Clean, sustained energy that holds through the whole session. No crash, no jitters, no munchies.
  • Focus+: Cannabinoids including THCV and CBG paired with Lion’s Mane and Ginkgo Biloba. Cognitive clarity that sharpens over time. Not a spike, a system.

THCV went viral because people tried it and it worked. Not because of a marketing campaign or a celebrity endorsement.

That’s how things trend when they’re real.
